Meet the Artist
For Sarah Dean, the American West is more than a setting; it’s a lived experience. Raised in rural Colorado, Sarah has spent a lifetime inspired by the beauty of the landscape surrounding her. Her body of work is an evolving exploration of the relationship between the two subjects about which she is most passionate: the horse as the heartbeat behind the West, and the cowgirl as the hero of her own story.
While her foundation was built in the precise world of graphite, Sarah found her true voice in oils. This shift to an expressive, tactile medium allowed her to focus on the power and emotion of her subjects.
